About the role:
Senior Structural Engineer (CPEng) - or close to.
The Senior Structural Engineer position is an Auckland-based role that is focused on supporting, developing and managing a team of engineers and technicians. This will involve technically delivering on projects, liaising with clients, reviewing and verifying deliverables, mentoring and developing the skills of the team. The role will require collaboration with our clients and other disciplines within the company. Communication skills will need to be on point as well as an appetite for Business and team development.
Working with the National Technical Director and other senior practitioners you will have a willingness to mentor and develop emerging professionals as well as share knowledge/information with the wider company on relevant areas of structural practice.Â
While ideally you will be a Chartered Professional Engineer consideration will be given to persons who while advanced in their practice may need this type of opportunity, environment and support to apply.

What we need from YOU!Â
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registered with ENZ as a Structural Engineer or advancing professional experience in New Zealand which would be consistent with chartership requirements.Â
Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and technical guidelines.Â
Broad knowledge of the NZ Building Code and design standards for a wide range of structures, building types and construction materials.Â
Specialist knowledge in the earthquake-resistant design of structures.Â
Experience in client liaison, managing projects, supervising a team and collaborating with other disciplines.Â
Proactive communication skills, positive networking capabilities and keenness to engage with business development
Understanding of commercial reality and the influence economic, social and political environments have this.Â
Proven track record of professional behavior, practicing ethics and integrity, abiding with ENZ Code of Conduct. Â
Key Experience (preferably gained in New Zealand)Â
A minimum of 6 years experience in the field of structural engineering design. With a recognised NZ Degree (BEng) or overseas equivalent
A minimum of 3 years experience in the management of design teams, engineering business and client liaison.
