Construction Monitoring

So, you have done all your due diligence prior to breaking ground, obtained the necessary reports and consents and now you are ready to start construction. But how can you make sure that the works being undertaken are in accordance with the design?

Construction monitoring by a consulting engineer allows your development to be reviewed throughout the lifespan of the project to ensure corners aren’t being cut and that if unforeseen conditions arise someone is there to advise on how to best address them.

It is a common requirement of councils, that for consented works, construction monitoring and sign-off (PS-4) is undertaken by a third-party to ensure that the works are being undertaken as per the design.

Geotechnical construction monitoring can be undertaken to inspect:

  • Foundations excavations

  • Earthwork compactions – including suitability testing such as plate load tests to ensure materials are sufficiently compacted

  • Excavated banks and slopes

  • Dewatering affects

This can provide you peace of mind that your development is being undertaken smoothly and to a high standard as per the designs.
