Concrete Scanning

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Concrete Scanning allows us to quickly and accurately determine the location and depth of certain objects, along with voids and other features within, or under, a concrete slab.

Geophysical Services

Our team can combine geophysics with intrusive methods in order to provide our clients with the optimum amount of information in a cost-effective package.

The Cook Costello team has a high-frequency ground penetrating radar (GPR) as part of our extensive geophysical tool kit.

The GPR sends radio waves into the material you want to be tested at a set frequency and records the polarity and amplitude of them as they’re reflected travelling from one medium into another.

The contrast in properties between the different mediums determines the strength of the reflection. This information is recorded and collated so that our team can create detailed maps and provide expert analysis when back in the office.

Our experienced team has worked on hundreds of jobs across the country, scanning a wide variety of structures and slabs. We have the knowledge and expertise to help you with the identification, location and mapping of reinforcing, utilities, voiding and any other feature that may be present within your concrete structures or slab.

We can help with:

  • Rebar identification with onsite mapping
  • Locating and mapping of voids
  • In-slab utility location and mapping, including power identification
  • Location of in-slab imperfections
  • Core-hole clearance
  • Pile locating with onsite mapping

Our Geophysics team has extensive experience in a variety of geophysical techniques. Read about them all here.
