Licensed Cadastral Surveyor (LCS)

Auckland, New Zealand

Job Type

Full Time

About the Role

Cook Costello is seeking a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the continued development of our surveying capability within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

This is a strategic appointment rather than a high-volume production role. We are looking for an experienced professional who enjoys delivering quality cadastral work and is interested in helping shape the future direction of surveying within the business.

If you are comfortable where you are but open to an opportunity offering professional autonomy, influence, and long-term stability, we would welcome a confidential conversation.

As a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, you will:

  • Undertake and sign cadastral surveys and LINZ datasets

  • Provide technical leadership and professional oversight

  • Support and mentor survey staff progressing toward licensing

  • Work alongside engineers and project teams on land development projects

  • Contribute to developing survey processes, standards and capability

  • Help shape the ongoing growth of surveying within Cook Costello

The role can be tailored to suit the strengths and interests of the successful candidate.

Location

We are open to candidates based in Auckland, Whangārei, or Christchurch, with flexibility depending on the right person.

About You

You will ideally bring:

  • Licensed Cadastral Surveyor status in New Zealand

  • Strong cadastral and subdivision experience

  • Sound knowledge of LINZ requirements and Landonline

  • Established professional judgement and technical leadership capability

  • A practical, solutions-focused approach

  • Interest in mentoring and supporting team development

What We Offer

We recognise the professional responsibility associated with LCS status and offer an environment built on trust, collaboration, and realistic expectations.

  • Professional autonomy and respect for your licence

  • Opportunity to influence and grow surveying capability

  • Multidisciplinary project exposure

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • Supportive leadership and collaborative culture

  • Long-term career stability within an established consultancy

Our focus is on building capability sustainably and delivering quality outcomes rather than operating high-pressure production workloads.

If you are open to an informal and confidential discussion about this opportunity, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Confidential enquiries and applications can be made via SEEK, LinkedIn, or careers@coco.co.nz.
