About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with up to 5 years of professional experience to join our growing Christchurch team. You will work on a diverse mix of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, supported by experienced senior and Chartered Engineers.
Your work will span concept and detailed design, analysis, documentation and construction-phase support, with opportunities to collaborate closely with architects, contractors and other disciplines within our integrated team.
What You Will Do
• Undertake structural analysis and design for timber, steel, reinforced concrete and masonry structures
• Prepare design calculations, drawings and reports to a high professional standard
• Undertake Detailed Seismic Assessments (DSA) of existing buildings
• Assist with site inspections, structural assessments and construction monitoring
• Work alongside senior engineers on complex and multidisciplinary projects
• Contribute to practical, innovative and buildable design solutions
About You
What We Are Looking For
BE (Hons) or equivalent in Structural Engineering, Washington Accord degree.
2–5 years of New Zealand structural design experience
Proficiency in software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SpaceGass.
Sound understanding of NZ building codes and standards (NZS 1170, 3101, 3404, 1720 etc.)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive approach to learning and progress toward Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
