Topographic Survey of Landslip
Land Damage Survey after the 2023 Auckland Anniversary Storm - Massey, Auckland
Following a natural disaster, assessing the extent of property damage is a critical first step in recovery. In this case, limited access and safety risks near a steep landslip meant our survey team used drone-based topographic surveying to support the engineering assessment. The newly captured surface data was compared with pre-event LiDAR to quantify the loss of material and guide the remedial design.
An accurate and tailored approach was essential, and our survey team delivered high-quality results quickly to support the recovery effort. This survey method is also well suited to quantifying land movement after other types of natural hazard events, provided high-quality pre-event LiDAR data is available.
