Paramount Plaza Retail Extension

The continued growth of surrounding residential developments created demand for additional retail space at Paramount Plaza. Cook Costello was engaged to deliver geotechnical, structural, and civil engineering services to support the extension.

Key ChallengesThe project required careful planning to minimise disruption to existing businesses and customers. On a flat site, designing a stormwater collection system without compromising carpark access was a particular challenge.

• Geotechnical & Civil Engineering: Developed a foundation solution, low-impact stormwater system integrated with carpark and pavement design.

• Structural Engineering: Designed efficient steel portal frames, providing clear spans to support the architectural vision and allow flexible tenant fit outs.

• Collaboration: Worked closely with the architects, contractors, landscape architect, and Council to ensure compliance and smooth delivery.
  

The ResultThe extension added five new retail spaces, quickly leased by tenants. The carpark remains fully functional and prioritises accessibility, and the integrated stormwater design supports long-term resilience.
